Commission Head-Corporate Communications Timothy Moono, explained that the seizure of the motor vehicle relates to investigations that ACC is conducting relating to possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Mr. Moono said the suspects are alleged to have acquired several properties including the said motor vehicle which was in Yo Maps’s custody but registered in another person’s name.
“Anti- Corruption Commission wishes to confirm that it has seized a motor vehicle Toyota Landcruiser VX, registration number BLC 2179 which was in the custody of a renowned Zambian musician Elton Mulenga aka Yo Maps.” The public is advised that Yo Maps is not a subject of these investigations,” Mr. Moono said.
He added that the Commission has since seized the vehicle and restricted other properties as they are deemed to be proceeds of crime.
“The Commission will ensure that it continues to carry out its mandate with objectivity, regardless of the social and political status or religious affiliation of individuals involved in investigations. Investigations in this matter are ongoing,” he added.
