Zambia remembers Sata

President Edgar Lungu this morning led scores of people from different walks of life at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church in Lusaka to celebrate the life of late President Michael Sata.
President Sata died in 2014 on October 28th, in London where he was receiving treatment.
And Zambia Youths in the fight Against Corruption Executive Director Maurice Malambo says President Sata will be remembered for transforming Zambia economically.
Mr. Malambo says the late Head of State also managed to transform Zambia as he embarked on infrastructure development in the country.
“You may recall that President Sata declared and created new districts thereby increasing economic activities in the newly created districts. This also resulted in job creation more especially for the local people,” he said.
He adds that even the much talked about Eurobonds, the two were acquired by late President Sata with the sole purpose of developing the country as it was injected in infrastructure development in road construction, health, education, water and sanitation among other key areas.
“President Sata also talked against the Chinese when he was in opposition, but when he became president in 2011, he embraced these investors because he realized the need to work with them,” he recalls.
Mr. Malambo is also pleased that President Edgar Lungu has continued on the trajectory of fighting corruption emulating late President Sata.
