A Consultancy Firm says Zambia needs to Learn about investing in Intellectual Development from Israel, which allocates 43 percent of its annual budget to the same.
Project Life design Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nellie Kangwa says Israel’s major export is intellectual Property as the country ranks higher learning institutions according to the percentage of students employed after graduating.
Dr. Kangwa says African graduates do not have the capacity to access high earning jobs locally and abroad due to the quality of education they undergo in institutions which is of old standard.
She says Zambia and other countries in Africa have adopted a deplorable higher education system and this needs to be upgraded to match modern standards.
Dr. Kangwa adds that modern day learning is equated to business which mainly exists for profit.
She explains that higher education should address employment, entrepreneurship to ensure that local graduates become high earnings members of Society.
She was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka.
Speaking at the same briefing, Lusaka Provincial Education Officer Christopher Sinkamba says government has put in place policies to ensure that graduates become employers of others as opposed to previously when they had to wait to be employed by other organizations.
