Zambia Trade Information Portal will create Transparency.

Government says the beta version of the Zambia Trade Information Portal (ZTIP) will improve the country’s performance on ease way of doing business.


Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary Mushuma Mulenga said the ZTIP which is a collection of all trades regulations enforced by Various Zambian agencies will enable traders “access information required to complete and comply with imports, exports or transit requirements for Zambia”.


Mr. Mulenga says the platform will create transparency and various trade regulations, reduce cost and assist Zambia to implement its obligation under the World Trade Organization facilitation agreement.
He said the official launch of the Zambia Trade Information Portal is slated for end of May 2020.


Mr. Mulenga was speaking in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry acting Permanent Secretary Mando Pasi on Wednesday in Lusaka in Lusaka.


And USAID Zambia Economic Development Officer Director Adam Norikane said the Zambia trade information portal is a key milestone to both Zambia and the entire southern Africa.


Mr. Norikane said the new portal “has potential to significantly improve the flow of information, automate trade processes, improve risk management procedures and boost the overall performance of border control agencies.”
