Zambian Industries advised to restructure in view of hiked electricity and fuel charges.

Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industries has called on industries in the county to restructure and face cost circumstance arising from the increase in electricity and fuel.

Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Chamber President Dr Jerome Kawisha says restructuring will also allow industries to unveil untapped opportunities.
“The issue is that industries should rise up to the opportunity that ate untapped and see how they can restructure to face some of the cost circumstances arising from the increase in electricity and fuel.” He said.

Dr Kawisha explained that people trading in solar equipment can increase their space on the market by marking domestic and commercial equipment affordable.
“Apart from making profits industries should also consider increasing their volumes from the available market in the market space” Dr Kwisha said.

He has also advised government to support stability and predictability of policies placed on the market.
“Certainty and ability of the industry to predict market trends helps the industry to grow hence the need for government to support it.
He added that once people in sectors such as Agriculture, Energy, and Education among others are predictable it allows investing in the economy as well as having an ideal planning for their businesses.
