ZCSA engages manufacturers on standardization

The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) says it is engaging manufacturers to ensure that the products they are producing inspire confidence in consumers as Zambia prepares to compete on the continental market.
ZCSA Public Relations Officer Lee Haamunji has told Money FM News that as Zambia prepares to compete on the continental market when the Africa Continental Free Trade Area agreement is in full force, it is important that local products meet the required standards.
Mr. Haamunji says the agency is ensuring that issues of standardization and quality assurance are given the attention they deserve.
He said this will definitely inspire confidence in the consumers of these products on the continental market.
Mr. Haamunji stated that the agency wants to see to it that the products that hit the international market meet all the required standards as enshrined in the standards.
“What we are doing is to ensure that we bring on board all stakeholders. Let’s work together as we ensure that the products we are producing as a country meet the required standards as this will inspire confidence in the consumers not just in Zambia but also on the continental level,” he said.
