Atlas Mara confident of Zambia’s success

ABC Holdings Group Managing Director Sanjeev Anand says his organisation, through Atlas Mara Bank, is fully committed to serving the people of Zambia, and local Institutions and businesses.
Mr. Anand says this is because of the strong policies that the Government is implementing to attain stabilisation and growth of the country’s economy.
Mr. Anand said this when he paid a courtesy call on Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe at her office.
He says the bank is keenly following government’s progress in the reform programme which the ministry of Finance has embarked upon and that the bank will continue to collaborate with government because they are confident of its success.
Mr. Anand says the bank will also continue to play its part in supporting the development of Zambia.
ABC Holdings is the immediate Holding Company for Africa Banking Corporation, which in Zambia trades as Atlas Mara Bank.
Atlas Mara has banking operations in Botswana, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Locally, Atlas Mara also owns Finance Building Society, Leasing Finance Limited and Micro Finance (Z) Limited.
Mr. Anand also took the opportunity to brief the Minister that Atlas Mara Bank will soon be launching a mobile-wallet facility aimed at improving transactional efficiency.
Other issues discussed include economic sectors and financial services.
In response, Mrs. Mwanakatwe stated that through the partnership with the private sector, the Government of Zambia is poised to overcome the turbulences in its development agenda and continue on the path of stabilisation and growth of the economy.
She reaffirmed the Governments steadfastness in implementation of the debt management strategy.
The Minister also commended Atlas Mara Bank for smoothly blending its international standards and experience with the local banking and financial services systems.
Mr. Ananda was accompanied by Atlas Mara Zambia Managing Director JAMES KONI and Atlas Mara (Z) Limited Director for Government Relations Hellen Lundu.
This is contained in a statement issued to the media by Ministry of Finance Head of Public Relations Chilleshe Kandeta.
