Businesses incur too many costs during registration or licensing – BRRA

The Business Regulatory Review Agency BRRA has observed that some businesses in some sectors incur too many costs during registration or licensing.
BRRA Director Sharon Sichilongo has cited the tourism sector where it was discovered that some businesses had to go through about 12 regulatory agencies to complete the processes.
Ms. Sichilongo says this is why they have put in place the single licensing system to cut the costs for the businesses and reduce interface with regulators.
She was speaking in an interview with Money FM News via Telephone.
According to the business regulatory act, Single Licensing System means a licensing system designed to facilitate compliance with multiple licensing requirements by multiple regulatory bodies through a single regulatory point or a Regulatory Services Center.
It is an integrated approach to processing and issuing all required licenses and permits for businesses operating in a given sector.
