Chilangwa wants Kashikishi – Chiengi Road done

Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa says no delays on the Kashikishi – Chiengi Road will be tolerated.
Mr. Chilangwa has urged the contractor to expedite the works and make the entire stretch of the road motorable saying undue delays on the implementation of this road project will not be tolerated any longer.
He says the people of Chiengi, Nchelenge and the entire Luapula together with those in Northern Province have waited for the upgrading of this road for a very long time.
He says this is not just one of those ordinary roads but an economical road and an important trade route to the Northern Parts of the Haut Katanga Province in the DRC and the Great lakes region.
“We need to reduce poverty, by unlocking the full economical potential of Chiengi and Nchelenge in fisheries, agriculture, tourism and mining. This is when l visited the road project site which is taking shape between Kabwe and Mununga in Chiengi district accompanied by Andrew Chellah, Special Assistant to the President for, Projects,” he said.
