CSO to become an agency

The Central Statistical office CSO says having a Technically Autonomous Authority to regulate statistics in Zambia will help the formulation of informed policies and provide accurate statistics to the public.
CSO Acting Director for census and statistics Goodson Sinyenga says this following the recently signed bill that will see the office change to the Zambia Statistics Agency.
The bill underwent the second reading in Parliament on Friday.
Mr. Sinyenga says the National Statistics Agency will regulate all official statistics producing bodies and ensure that they adhere to set standards.
He says this will enable restoration of Public confidence and respect in locally produces statistics.
Mr. Sinyenga says the Zambia Statistics Agency regulate according to the United Nations Standards which Zambia adheres to.
He was speaking in an exclusive interview with Money FM Radio in Lusaka
