CSPR concerned with high taxes

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction Executive (CSPR) has advised the government to introduce taxes that will help in boosting the country’s economy.

CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano says taxes are there to improve the wellbeing of the citizens as well as growing the economy and not to burden the citizens with high taxes.

Mr. Nshindano guides that taxes should not affect service delivery.

He laments that it is unfair to continue introducing new taxes such as the recently introduced taxes on internet phone calls.

Mr. Nshindano says there is need to introduce taxes that will help the country realize the much needed resources so as to improve its economy.

Mr. Nshindano has since called for equity in the manner taxes are been introduced and applied by government.
