The NGO promoting the proliferation of Zambian products, BuyZed, has encouraged local entrepreneurs to focus on the promotion of value addition of non-traditional export products to boost the local sector.
BuyZed Campaign Founder Evans Ngoma says there is need to add value to Zambia’s raw materials and create more jobs for people as well as raise socio-economic status.
Mr. Ngoma says this is one assured way of collectively contributing towards Zambia attaining middle income status by 2030.
He is also pleading with consumers to embrace local goods and maintain the demand so that everyone is in business and the cycle goes on and on. Mr. Ngoma cites Mukula trees that there is a big opportunity for local business to make high end market furniture even for export.
