East Expo to explore untapped potential – Activist

A Governance Activist in Eastern Province is confident that the Eastern Province Expo will explore other key sectors of the economy apart from the agriculture sector.
Maxson Nkhoma, who is also former Civil Society for Poverty Reduction Eastern Province Coordinator, has told Money FM News via telephone that the province has been depending on agriculture for many years.
Mr. Nkhoma says the province also boasts of gold which was discovered in some parts of the province which he says remains untapped.
Mr. Nkhoma said the expo has been long overdue as it will explore the untapped potential in the province.
“I believe that the expo is coming at a right time when we as a province are trying to see how best we can create jobs for our local people, how can we increase economic activities in the province and how best we can tap into the untapped sector,” he said.
Mr. Nkhoma believes that this will also help in the setting up of agro-processing plants and that it will help in the promotion of value addition to the products in the province
