EHCOSU salutes the reopening of Universities, Colleges

Evelyn Hone College Students Union (EHCOSU) has described the decision by government to reopen Universities and Colleges for graduating students as a step in the right direction.
Union Judiciary Chief Justice Stanley Mubatsa told Money FM News that staying outside campus for a long was going to create academic crisis, because most students were going to fail examinations due to spending limited time in class.
Mr. Mubatsa stated that the E-learning portal is a failed project stating that students cannot access quality education through the platform, therefore the reopening of Higher learning institutions is the only key for now.
“Staying outside campus for a long was going to create academic crisis, we were going to see a situation where a lot of students fail examinations because of spending limited time in class.”
“The E-learning is a failed project because students cannot access quality education through the platform. That being the case, I believe opening of Higher learning institutions is the only key for now,” Mr. Mubatsa said.
He further called on the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) to consider providing Covid-19 preventive materials like face masks to the students as they resume classes.
“To begin with, I would like to make it clear that the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit is supposed to provide Covid-19 preventive materials to the students.”
