Government is putting in place interventions to grow SMEs

The ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry has noted the challenges that the SME’s face in the country resulting from the Recently ended 2018 world Export Development Forum (WEDF) in Lusaka.

It has been revealed that SME’s face Challenges including Limited access to financial Services, international market barriers Among others

The ministry says it is putting in place interventions to help SMEs grow with less challenges burden.

Ministry Permanent Secretary Kayula siame says the ministry is awaiting a publication in order for it to start implementing the programs.

Ms Siame said during a Pannel Discussion at the 2018 WEDF that Government will review the SME policy to make help SME’s grow in the country.

The WEDF conference attracted about 1600 participants from around the world and was held for the first time in Zambia and second time in Africa.
