The Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development says it is looking for a partner to help map the remaining available land for mineral Exploration in Zambia.
Mines and Minerals Development Minister Richard Musukwa says over 60 percent of the country has been mapped and that there is still a huge chunk of land that hosts various resources which can be exploited.
Mr. Musukwa says over 60 percent of the country has already been mapped in corporation with partners from Japan, China and other stakeholders.
He says once the minerals are discovered, they need to be mapped and identified to enable the government provide packages for exploration programs for investors.
The Minister also says exploration works for oil in Zambia are progressing well and that government is looking for a good investor in the industry to start producing the commodity.
Mr. Musukwa says the country has been divided into oil Blocks that are being exploited by various Private individual companies.
He adds that the country has great potential to mine the commodity especially in the great-rift valley which borders with other countries that already discovered oil.
The minister was speaking when he made a ministerial presentation at the ongoing Investing in African Mining Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa Today.
