The Zambia Alliance for Women (ZAW) has called on financial institutions to come up flexible payment plans for women entrepreneurs.
ZAW Programmes Manager Ceaser Katebe says some women entrepreneurs have ended up losing their property for failure to service their loans.
Mr. Katebe says there is an urgent need to come up with a deliberate policy and come up with a flexible payment plan for women entrepreneurs so that they do not default in servicing their loans.
Mr. Katebe has told Money FM News via telephone that this is a matter that needs concerted efforts in helping women entrepreneurs.
“Another thing that we need to address is the high interest rates. Women are failing to repay loans because of high interest rates,” he said.
He says despite having the moveable assets law to help entrepreneurs have access to finance, repayment methods remain a challenge for most women entrepreneurs in Zambia.
