IAZ sensitization messages receive positive response.

The Insurers Association of Zambia says a cross section of society is well informed on issues regarding insurance coverage following massive sensitizations the association is currently conducting.

Association Executive Director Dr. Nkaka Mwashika told Money FM News in an interview that due to the sensitization messages, members of the public know where to go or what to do whenever they are not satisfied with the services offered by Insurance providers.
Dr. Mwashika added that citizens now understand how insurance companies operate and the procedure to follow when accessing their insurance claims and this has reduced misunderstandings between clients and Insurers.

“So far the sensitizations are yielding results, because of this people know now that there is Insurers Association of Zambia, they know where to go when they have problems with insurance providers especially in the area of claims,” Dr. Mwashika said.

He observed that insurance penetration has also improved despite the uptake being affected by the current economic challenges.
“Insurance penetration has somehow improved but knowing is one thing and taking up is another because taking up is a function of different aspects such as the state of the economy but in terms of awareness they know,” he stated.
