Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary has urged the media to play an active role in sensitizing the public on the benefits of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Bill.
Speaking during a press briefing held at his office, Amos Malupenga said the media should intensify public sensitizations so that even those that may be opposed to the Bill can appreciate its benefits.
‘‘Contrary to opposing voices, the Bill will assure safety and security of all citizens in the cyber space,’’ he said.
The Permanent secretary has since warned abusers of the cyber space that their days were numbered with the imminent enactment of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Bill.
Yesterday, the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Bill passed Third Reading in Parliament, and is now awaiting presidential assent in order to be enacted into law.
