The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) says it has so far spent US$77 million on the construction of the Bombay and Mazyopa Drainage Projects.
MCA Corporate Communications Manager John Kunda has disclosed that the 2.6 kilometer and 18 kilometers wide Mazyopa Drainage has been completed.
Dr. Kunda says the Bombay drainage is however still under construction with 3 kilometers left before completion and US$60 million has been spent on the drainage.
The Account has also disclosed that funding of the projects is from the American Government and is coming to an end on November 15th, 2018.
However, Dr. Kunda says the Zambian government has already pumped in US$20 million into the continuation of certain components of the project.
