The Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia (MQHZ) says it is saddened with the poor sanitary conditions currently obtaining in most public clinics and hospitals.
Organization Finance and Administration Director Edwin Sianzinda told Money FM News that a random check conducted in most health facilities across the Country revealed that ablutions were in a filthy state not conducive for patients.
Dr. Sianzinda said if left unchecked, the scenario is likely to be a breeding ground for various unexplained diseases.
“After two weeks from now, MQHZ shall begin to name and shame all those clinics and hospitals that shall remain with pathetic sanitary conditions. We cannot allow health institutions to be centers for uncleanliness.”
“Our strong belief is that having a clean and healthy environment is a major cornerstone when it comes to quality healthcare delivery,” Dr. Sianzinda stated.
Dr. Sianzinda appealed to the Ministry of Health to swing into serious actions and ensure that the filthy clinics and hospitals improve their hygiene sanitary.
“We also plead with patients to be supper hygienic and keep public clinics as well as hospitals clean and tidy to avoid preventable infections.”
