Northern Province in US$4.5bn investment pledges

The Northern Province Administration says it has received investment pledges worth over four point five billion US dollars ahead of this month’s Investment Expo.
Provincial Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga says the amount is expected to double when the expo starts as most companies are still making their investment pledges.
He adds that the preparations for the expo and the Centenary celebrations have so far reached between eighty five and ninety percent saying that the remaining has to do with administrative works.
Mr. Kamanga says some of the key areas of interest to some investors are in the agriculture, tourism and energy sectors among others.
He says over one thousand five hundred participants have been registered so far and over 30 countries from around the world will be represented.
The Permanent Secretary was speaking to Money FM News in a telephone interview.
