President Lungu successfully files in, runs with Prof. Luo

• President Lungu appoints Professor Nkandu Luo as running mate.
• ECZ successfully receives PF‘s Presidential Nomination papers.
• President Lungu and Professor Nkandu Luo have since been nominated.


President Edgar Lungu has successfully filed in his Presidential Nomination papers before Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson Justice Esau Chulu.
During the Presidential Nominations, the Patriotic Front (PF) Party also unveiled the Presidential Running mate who is Former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Professor Nkandu Luo.
And speaking after filing in his presidential nomination, President Lungu said he is confident with his choice of Professor Luo as his running mate in the fourth coming General Elections.
“Members of the Patriotic Front party should support my decision of choosing Former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Professor Nkandu Luo to be my Running Mate,” President Lungu stated
“My fellow citizens, I have no doubt that we are going to make a great team that will not only give our party the electoral victory, but, ultimately, the progress we desire for our great nation,” he said .
Meanwhile, Justice Esau Chulu said the Commission has successfully received the PF‘s Presidential Nomination papers for both President Edgar Lungu and his running mate Professor Nkandu Luo and have since been nominated.
ECZ further scrutinized the documents for both President Lungu and his running mate Professor Luo who will be standing on the PF Ticket during the 12th August 2021 General Elections.
“I wish to inform that in accordance with article 100 and 110 of the constitution of Zambia, I hereby announce that you have publicly been nominated as a presidential Candidate for the Patriotic Front Seat, with Professor Luo as running mate,” Justice Esau Chulu told Mr. Lungu.
