Standard Chartered Agency Banking helping create employment, wealth

• Increasing location outlets to 100 country countrywide in first phase.
• 300 more locations are coming in the second phase.
• Supporting financial inclusion through Agency Banking.

Standard Chartered Bank says with launch of Agency Banking, one now can do all their cash transactions at the Bank’s appointed agents across Zambia.

The Bank says it is helping to create employment and wealth that will generate new revenue streams following launch of Agency Banking.

Speaking during launch of the Product, Bank Chief Executive Officer Sonny Zulu says the Institution is also supporting financial inclusion as commitment through Agency Banking.

Mr. Zulu also disclosed that Standard Chartered Bank will be increasing location outlets to 100 country wide reaching places the bank never had presence of before in its 116 years of existence.

He said this would be done in the first phase further indicating that 300 more locations are coming in the second phase.

Later, Standard Chartered Board Chairperson Dr. Caleb Fundanga said Agency Banking is an opportunity for Zambians.

Dr. Fundanga urged entrepreneurs to come on board and establish their own financial services companies assuring them of the banks ‘support.
