Veep evacuated to S.A

The Ministry of Health has announced that Vice President Inonge Wina has been evacuated to South Africa for thorough medical check-ups after a medical encounter for a heart condition last evening.
Minister in charge Dr. Chitalu Chilufya says that the Vice President was seen off at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in the early hours of today in company of himself, Minister in the Vice President’s Office, Sylvia Chalikosa and acting Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa among other senior government officials.
Dr. Chilufya says Mrs Wina was first evacuated to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) last night where a multidisciplinary medical team treated her for a heart condition.
He says in order to consolidate the Vice President’s scheduled review and the anticipated short recuperation period, Republican President Edgar Lungu has facilitated her evacuation for a thorough medical checkup.
