Zambia says it ready to host the K4 million 2018 World Export Development Forum (WEDF) which will be held in Lusaka.
Zambia through the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry will host the 18th edition of the World Export Development Forum in Lusaka from September 11-12, 2018 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
The theme for the forum is “scaling up through Trade: Skill-Innovate-Connect”.
Government through the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry in collaboration with the International Trade Centre and support from various partners is organising this unique global platform dedicated to supporting trade-led development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The ministry of commerce Trade and industry has announced that it has reached its target of 1, 000 registered participants both local and international.
Ministry Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame says therefore, over 600 people are expected from various continents from around the world.
Ms. Siame was speaking when she updated the media on the preparedness of WEDF in Lusaka today.
Last year, the forum was held in Hungary where Zambia was nominated as the host of the 2018 forum.
Zambia will be the second African country to host the annual event after Rwanda which hosted it in 2014.
