The Ministry of Energy says Zambia is poised to become an energy hub in the region when it develops all projects that have been planned.
Speaking at the Africa Investment Forum being hosted by the ADB in Sandton South Africa, Minister of Energy Mathew Nkhuwa says Zambia will benefit from Energy projects funded by the Africa Development Bank (AfDB).
Mr. Nkhuwa says there is enormous interest from key global investors that wish to invest in Zambia.
He says at this forum, a number of projects in Zambia’s Energy sector will be on the spotlight.
Mr. Nkhuwa is representing Zambia at African Development Bank’s Africa Investment Forum (AIF), a world-class initiative positioned to transform the continent’s economy and infrastructure development landscape.
The forum, which is taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg until Friday, is being held under the theme “All set for Africa’s first investment marketplace”.
Over 61 bankable projects worth $40 billion across the continent will be discussed during this Forum with the aim to springboard African economic transformation.
The focus is on structuring deals, screening and enhancing projects, attracting co-investors, and facilitating transactions to unlock Africa’s multi-billion dollar investment opportunities.
