Zambians urged to appreciate local products

The BuyZed Campaign has reiterated calls for Zambians to join the campaign to support local products.

Organization Board Secretary Tutwa Ngulube said the Campaign which is aimed at promoting Zambian goods and products on the international market must be embraced by all because local products are now competing favourably with other goods in Super Markets.

Mr Ngulube who is also Kabwe Central Member of Parliament stated that Zambians should begin to buy local products first whenever they are in a supermarket, so as to help create more jobs for local factories.

“We have noticed that in local supermarkets, Zambian products are competing with other products, so we are encouraging Zambians to begin to buy local products first so that we create more jobs for our Zambian factories and also begin to grow our branding,” Mr Ngulube said.

He observed that despite Zambian products being sold in other countries, consumers do not appreciate the value of locally manufactured goods.

“We see Zambian honey in Europe, we see Zambian cashew nut in Russia and everywhere but the locals do not appreciate the value of what we are able to produce. The BuyZed campaign is aimed at raising campaign on what local products we have on the local market and abroad,” he said.
