ZMA to conduct random inspections on filling stations

The Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) says it will continue carrying out random inspections on filling stations in checking how these stations are operating.
ZMA Public Relations Officer (ZMA) Mutale Chileshe tells Money FM News that basically, the agency carries out random inspections on filling station to check on their equipment in a bid to ensure that they are not calibrated.
Mr. Chileshe says fuel dispensers are also bound to be calibrated and hence the need to ensure that all equipment are operating habitually.
He says these equipment lose calibration and that is the more reason why the agency carries out routine inspection to certify their worthiness.
He adds that the petroleum sector is one of the highly regulated sectors in the country due to its economic impact on the nation.
Mr. Chileshe says the sector is also one of the key sectors in the country that drive the country’s economy and hence the need to ensure that it is well regulated.
