Farmers advised to treat Agric as business

Farmers across the country have been advised to treat agriculture as a business and broaden their market base.

Former Eastern Province Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) Coordinator Maxson Nkhoma is further advising farmers to embrace digital agriculture saying the technological world is changing every time.

Mr. Nkhoma, who is also a farmer, is also calling on the private sector to continue offering the farmers attractive crop prices as this will motivate them in expanding their agricultural activities.

He is pleased with Zambeef that the company is offering a good package to the farmers saying it is leading a way for other players in the sector not to offer exploitative offers.

Mr. Nkhoma has since appealed to Zambeef to consider opening up satellite depots across the country in order to reach out to more farmers in procuring crops from the farmers.
