A 31 year-old driver of Namwala District in Southern Province has committed suicide after his motor vehicle overturned and killed three family members he was carrying in Namwala two days ago.

And Southern Province Police Commissioner Boniface Kapeso confirms the development to Money FM News via telephone that Kasary Chikampa of Chief Muchili, was driving a Toyota Hilux registration No. 3402 which overturned killing his wife, son and nephew.

Mr. Kapeso has since identified the accident victims as Orin Chikampa, 22, his son Joe, aged one year and eight months and nephew, Joseph Chikampa, 16.

The Southern Province Police Chief narrates that after the deaths were confirmed at the hospital, the driver decided to take his life by hanging himself using a rope in his house.

He says all the three bodies are laying in the Namwala District Hospital Mortuary.

Mr. Kapeso says the accident happened between 17:30 and 18:00hrs in Namwala on Tuesday this week.
