NRFA gives LCC K300, 000 to patch potholes

The National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) has given Lusaka City Council (LCC) three hundred thousand kwacha to patch potholes in Lusaka.

To this end, the council has resumed the patching of potholes and road marking works in selected town township roads.

The works were halted in May this year because of lack of funds.

LCC Public Relations Manager George Sichimba says the works which started last week will also involve put up of speed humps in selected areas.

Mr. Sichimba says the council has been working in a collaborative arrangement with National Roads Fund Agency and Roads Development Agency (RDA) in maintaining township roads.

“NFRA usually provides budgetary support to Council for maintenance of township roads. Council on the other side provides labour and execute the actual works while RDA provides technical and equipment support when needed,” he said.

He is appealing to motorists and the general public to be patient as works cannot be done at the same time.
