The Presidential Empowerment Initiative Fund (PEIF) has stated that the Presidential Empowerment initiative is progressing well for the rural beneficiaries in the country.
Fund Manager Andreas Lumeta has disclosed that the women are being empowered with equipment, livestock and cash as capital for their various businesses.
In an interview with Money FM News, Mr. Lumeta says they have a goat farming project that is running in Mpongwe, Copperbelt province which currently has over nine hundred (900) beneficiaries.
He explains that nine hundred (900) goats were released to about three hundred (300) families to pass on to other families once the goats reproduce.
The Fund Manager has added that the PEIF is also present in rural Kalulushi where they are targeting marketeers and in Choma Southern Province where one hundred (100) business women have been empowered with one hundred thousand kwacha (K100,000) as business starts up capital.
Mr. Lumeta says the fund has presence in all the rural areas and further desire to touch the entire country before the end of 2020.
